Baby please come out.....

Well I had a homevisit from the midwife this evening and she attempted a membrane sweep, well lets just say it was a very uncomfortable experience and it didn't work as she couldn't reach my cervix. I have been booked for an induction on the 26th, but I have no intention of going for that unless they can tell me that baby is at risk and prove it.
Anyway, long story short, I'm still here and still pregnant and ready to have this baby, but she is not ready to be had!

Come along little baby ! It's not that bad out here!

I was induced and it was ok actually. In fact, he ended up coming out quite fast. I had to be though as Ihad pre-eclampsia.

Hey, whatever it takes. If you leave the baby in too long, it will be overcooked and slightly brown on the edges!

If my baby is at risk I will do anything to get her out, but I won't be induced just for the sake of it because they think I'm overdue. Term is up to 42 weeks and by my dates I won't be 42 weeks until Dec 31st. Inducing a baby who is not ready to come can be just as risky as leaving a baby too long. Jon's first wife and baby both almost died due to induction.

Wow. You are quite right.Interventions should only happen if needed. I'm glad we have them though else it would have been me and baby who could have died. Best wishes :)

Thanks susanna, that comment really was meant for Esteban, being a man it's easy to say just do whatever it takes but as he will never give birth it's an easy comment for him to make. No offence Esteban, honestly, but I'm not going to let them pump my body full of drugs just for the sake of it.

I was teasing actually. I thought that was apparent with the "overcooked and slightly brown" comment. I understand the risks and agree with you whole heartedly. Not only that, a good portion of first pregnancies are later that expected, so generally speaking, this isn't too much to worry about. Still praying for you two. Hang in there! :)
